How Does It Actually Work?
BidBuy is a marketplace platform. We provide the auction infrastructure — listings, bidding, timers and notifications. Buyers and sellers deal directly with each other. We are not a party to any transaction and do not hold funds, arrange viewings, or verify items.
If bidding does not reach the seller's reserve price, the auction closes with no obligation on either side. The seller keeps their item. As a buyer, your bids are cancelled automatically. Reserve prices are kept confidential — bidders never see them.
No. BidBuy is a self-service platform. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings. Buyers should carry out their own due diligence — including vehicle history checks, property surveys, or viewings — before bidding. We strongly recommend this.
Payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller. BidBuy does not handle, hold, or process payments. Once you win an auction, you will receive the seller's contact details to arrange payment and collection between yourselves.
Yes — and we recommend it. Contact the seller directly via the listing to arrange a viewing before you bid. BidBuy provides seller contact details on every listing once you are registered for that auction.
No buyer fees. BidBuy charges sellers only. The first 50 sellers list for free. Buyers pay nothing to register, bid, or win.
If a bid is placed in the final 2 minutes of an auction, the clock automatically extends by 2 minutes. This keeps happening until no bids land in the final window — so the true highest bidder always wins, not the fastest clicker.
After the founding 50 free listings, sellers pay a flat listing fee per auction. Pricing will be published before paid listings launch. There are no percentage-based success fees — what you sell for is yours.
